Alumni Accolades

Many of the student filmmakers we have shown in our festival have gone on to do amazing things. We love to keep in touch with our friends from the past five years - here is just some of what they have done.

"Son of Satan" accepted to 2005 Cannes Film Festival

JJ Villard's haunting telling of Bukowski's tale "Son of Satan" has been accepted to the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. This film was seen at the 2004 First Look Student Film Festival. Way to go!



"Rex Steele: Nazi Smasher" Wins
Student Academy Award

A great year for animation, this incredible film was shown here in 2004 and later went on to win the Gold Medal at the Student Academy Awards. Woo Hoo!!



"9:30" Wins Directors Guild of America
Student Film Award


This film by Mun Chee Yong also screened at Cannes in 2004 as part of The Emerging Filmmaker Showcase and the Kodak Student Filmmaker Program. Excellent storytelling.



"Back Seat Bingo" Screens at Telluride 2004

An "animated documentary" by Liz Blazer, this film has been widely seen at film festivals all over the country and was recently shown at the 2004 Telluride Film Festival. Congratulations!



"Doki Doki " Shown on PBS Independent Lens Series

Filmed in Tokyo by Chris Eska, this touching love story now appears on the PBS Independent Lens Series.
